The Brief

To create a digital 3D model of the fanzone for the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

Our Approach

We wanted to create a 3D animation that took the viewer on a virtual journey. Their journey began at the exterior of the fan zone and lead them right through to the heart of the purpose built space. This is where anyone without tickets can enjoy the fun of the World Cup on big screens, and feel part of the finals in safe surroundings. We kept the graphical style simple, as we wanted to show the very basics of the fanzone. By doing so, the viewer could gain a real understanding of the scale and potential of what the zone would eventually become.

The Result

Our 3D animated fanzone helped Urban Events push the idea for the fanzone with the organisers of the Fifa World Cup. And the great news is that our virtual world has now become a reality.
