The Brief

To design and build a simple but stunning multi-purpose website for ND Make-up Artists.

Our Approach

This was going to be ND Make-up Artists first ever website, so it had to make a real statement  – something that would show off their diverse range of skills. They wanted a design that was strikingly different from the norm, something that would stand out in the crowded make-up market.

As their main audience was split into fashion & editorial and weddings, the website had to have a dual front-end entry system. This also meant we could explore two very different creative styles within the site.

On the wedding side of the business we went with a restrained and subtle look, and on the fashion front we went off the scale, using a number of illustrative styles that reflected the boldness of the make-up itself.

As with most websites we design, we also kept the navigation extremely simple. After all, what’s the point in creating a great looking website if it isn’t functional?

The Result

With well over a million hits on the website and lots of positive feedback, ND Make-up Artists are going from strength to strength.
